Frequently Asked Questions
We limit groups to six dogs per day. Each dog gets plenty of personalized attention while still benefiting from the structure and social learning that happens in a small group setting. Throughout the day, one trainer is always with the dogs, rotating between training sessions, structured play, enrichment activities, and rest periods.
Dogs are natural social learners. When one dog succeeds at a cue, the others often mimic more quickly. The group setting also helps dogs learn to respond in the presence of distractions. It’s a more real-world environment, preparing your dog to listen at the park, on walks, or when visitors come over.
For puppies and dogs who have not had formal training, the 7-to-7 program focuses on foundational skills:
- Core cues like SIT, DOWN, STAY, and COME
- Leash manners and walking calmly around distractions
- Settling in new environments
- Dog-dog social skills, including polite greetings and appropriate play
For dogs who have already completed programs such as Fido Foundations or Release the Beast, we offer an Intermediate 7-to-7 track. In this version of the program, dogs build on the basics by practicing with the “Three D’s”—distance, duration, and distraction—to make behaviors reliable in real-world scenarios. They’ll also work on impulse control, recall in the presence of distractions, and more advanced social skills in group settings.
While you’ll see small wins even after a single day—like one new cue, skill, or game—the most meaningful progress happens in our two- and three-week programs. That’s because dogs learn best through consistent, repeated practice over time.
In a two- to three-week 7-to-7 program, dogs receive daily training sessions layered with play, enrichment, and rest. This allows them to build fluency in multiple cues, learn new tricks and skills, and generalize those behaviors in a real-world group setting.
Think of the enrichment packages as a fun “boost” or introduction, and the two- or three-week programs as the structured path to lasting results.
Yes! Dogs rotate between active training, structured play, enrichment activities, and rest periods. A balance of stimulation and downtime helps them absorb what they’ve learned and avoid burnout.
Drop-off begins at 7:00 AM, and pick-up is at 7:00 PM. Throughout the day, dogs rotate between:
- Structured training sessions focused on cues, leash manners, and focus work.
- Guided social play with their classmates, practicing polite interactions.
- Enrichment activities like puzzle feeders, sniff games, and confidence-building exercises.
- Rest breaks and naps to ensure they don’t become overstimulated and stay alert and ready to learn.
By 9:00 PM on the same day of your class, you’ll receive a detailed report card with photos and video showing your pup’s progress. You’ll also collaborate on an individualized training plan with our Chief Training Officer during your Meet & Greet Evaluation, so the day’s structure supports your goals at home.
We require all Colorado’s Core Vaccines, including Bordetella, Distemper/Parvo, Rabies, and Leptospirosis. Proof of vaccination must be provided before the program begins.
All dogs must complete a Meet & Greet Evaluation before joining. This allows us to assess their current skill set, social style, and ensure the program is a good fit. To schedule a Meet & Greet, call/text (303) 900-8620 or email us at info@GoodDogDyno.com.
The 7-to-7 program is not a behavior-modification program and is not designed for dogs with reactivity, aggression, severe anxiety, resource guarding, or a bite history. All dogs must undergo a Meet & Greet Evaluation and demonstrate they can safely share space, settle, and work around other dogs in a small-group setting. If a dog is not a good fit, we’ll pause enrollment and recommend alternatives.
That’s no problem at all! Every dog learns at their own pace, and part of our evaluation is making sure we set them up for success. During the Evaluation, if we feel your pup would benefit from a little extra preparation before joining 7-to-7, we’ll provide you with a personalized training plan and clear next steps.
Often, this might mean starting with one of our other programs—such as Sensitive Souls (in-home support for shy or anxious dogs), Boisterous Barkers (Reactive Rover classes), or private lessons—so your pup can build the confidence and skills needed to thrive in a group environment. Once they’re ready, we’ll re-evaluate and welcome them back into 7-to-7 with the tools to really shine.
